TRAILS

Like a Film of Dust
Kirkbride
L’Isola Abbandonata

A series of film installations and video projections, designed for public exhibition as site specific installations and/or projected as video in a gallery space or at another designated site. The video is the unfolding and (post) production of the constructed site.

The film installations (film sets) use a beam of sunlight which passes through the glass panes of one or more windows of a room, projecting and casting a moving light-shadow over the reflecting surfaces (screens) placed in designated parts of the room. A photographic camera, (as if playing the role of an actor-performer) records the passing phenomena of moving light and air.

Trails articulates material properties and language of cinema, place making, atmospheres, silence and time passing.
